And the card attached would say "Thank you for being a friend!"

Last night I went to a pancake party round the corner. Oh we had a gay time, between the flambéed crepes, crates of cider (thank you Becca :) ) and Dario G I shared a little moment of nostalgia with Lottie.

While discussing the bane that is her long cross-city commute to Kensington every day I suggested she get into audiobooks for the journey and she replied that she had Bottom on cassette like IT WAS NOTHING (jesus I laughed hard for nearly five minutes about this Bottom was TOP CLASS ENTERTAINMENT as if Ade Edmonson's character was called Eddie Hitler that's too good, ha ha)

Anyway, I digress what i wanted to say was she is even more loved up with her Golden Girls VHS agggh GOLDEN GIRLS

First Can you believe the grannified one, Sophia is younger than both ROSE AND DOROTHY!? Heavy amount of make-up - that is so hot and deceptive.

Secondly how cool is it that there was a show about horny old women! Amazing! We need more of this representative comedy and less skins-type drivel aka channel4-commisioners-wet-dream-jizzum-lapped-up-by-desperate-T4bots WHY O WHYYY don't we have more shows like this? (my german friend came to see me last week and said he felt he knew me much better, as a brit yoot, AFTER he had watched skins, i shuddered and i probably wept a bit too) Come on it's got universal appeal.. even the russians got involved "
A Russian remake of Golden Girls was broadcast in 2006, titled Bolshie Devochki (Russian: Большие Девочки), which in English can literally be translated to: "Big Girls.d" HA HA HA

Thirdly, they're in Miami in 1985? That place is going to be FLUSH with coke. I would love it if there was an episode where they turn into skibunnies, cook up some crack rock in their little kitchen and get Blanche to smoke it for a laugh, but she'd turn cracknasty and start hanging out with the neighbourhood cokedog.

It'd all be ok in the end though cos she'd have her girls.. or maybe not.. TBH she's looking a bit supernatural these days.

EDIT : I just realised who Blanche reminds me off. That camp bonemachine Skeletor.

The Fifth Golden Girl??

Anyway, the pancake night went on with the theme tune ringing in my floured brain .. I think we've all got something to take from this CLASSIC series..

"And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you ever knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend."
